The WIL Associateship and Fellowship

Who Can Apply:

  • CBE and CSci students of all majors and backgrounds 
    • with a passion for leadership and gender equality
    • a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in leadership roles.
    • enthusiastic learners who are ready to seize opportunities for personal and professional growth.

WIL Associates:

- Are paired with a mentor from the WIL community for their leadership development

- Must enroll in the Leadership course (MGMT 624 or Mgmt 400)

- Gain access to exclusive opportunities through the WIL network

WIL Fellows, in addition:

- Receive A $1,000 scholarship

- Get mentorship from faculty and industry leaders on their project and leadership development

- Present their project at the WIL Forum on the weekend of International Women’s Day (March 8, 2026)

- Priority to engage with experienced senior executives through our Mentor's Table initiative.

- Additional opportunities - TBD, These include workshops, conferences, and initiatives aimed at empowering women in leadership.

Choose Your WIL Path

The Women in Leadership (WIL) Associate program offers an enriching experience for college students who are committed to advancing their leadership skills, expanding their network, and championing the cause of women in leadership. As an Associate, you'll have the chance to engage in many aspects of the WIL program, sharing in its wealth of opportunities for personal and professional growth.

What You Can Expect:

  1. Mentoring: Benefit from one-on-one mentorship with seasoned professionals who will guide you on your journey toward leadership excellence. Your mentor will provide valuable insights, advice, and support tailored to your unique aspirations.
  2. Leadership and Career Development Seminar: Enroll in a seminar (MGMT 624 for graduate students and MGMT 400 for undergraduate students) that covers essential strategies for leadership and career development. Topics include effective communication, negotiation, personal branding, and resilience, providing you with valuable skills for your future career.
  3. Networking Opportunities: Connect with a diverse community of like-minded individuals who share your passion for leadership and gender equality. Forge lasting relationships and collaborate with your peers to make a collective impact.
  4. Participation in the WIL Community: Immerse yourself in the vibrant WIL community and take advantage of various networking events, workshops, and panel discussions. Gain access to influential leaders in the field and learn from their experiences.
  5. Access to Additional Avenues: As a WIL Associate, you'll also have the opportunity to explore additional avenues for growth and empowerment, including workshops, conferences, and initiatives aimed at advancing women in leadership roles.

 

What Sets the Associate Program Apart:

While Associates share many aspects of the WIL program with Fellows, there are some key distinctions:

  • Associates are not required to execute a leadership project, allowing for a more flexible commitment.
  • The program does not include a stipend.

  4. Leadership Project: Showcase your leadership skills by initiating and leading a project of your choice. This hands-on experience allows you to apply what you've learned and make a tangible impact on your campus or community.
  5. Leadership and Career Development Seminar: Register and participate in a seminar (Mgmt 624 for graduate students and Mgmt 400 for undergraduate students) that covers essential strategies for leadership and career development. Topics include effective communication, negotiation, personal branding, and resilience.
  6. Participation in the Mentor's Table: As a WIL Fellow, you'll also have the opportunity to engage with experienced senior executives through our Mentor's Table initiative. This additional avenue for mentorship and networking is a powerful complement to your fellowship experience.
  7. Access to Additional Avenues: Beyond the WIL Fellowship, explore a range of opportunities and events that will further enhance your leadership journey. These include workshops, conferences, and initiatives aimed at empowering women in leadership.
