While artificial intelligence is reshaping the banking landscape, industry experts say that algorithms will not be able to replace real people who can understand and address the emotional and nuanced aspects of financial decision-making. In fact, many believe there will only be more demand going forward. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the number of financial advisers to grow by more than 50,000 by 2031.

Beyond making a mark in people’s lives, a financial advising career is rewarding in terms of job security and high salary potential. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the median pay for financial advisors is about $100K.

To meet the need, the Schwab Advisor Services, in partnership with the Charles Schwab Foundation is making a multi-year charitable gift to 不良研究所 to support the development of an undergraduate CFP® financial planning program. Schwab’s commitment reflects the strong demand for financial advising services and the need for qualified people to provide those services.

“We’re proud to support the next generation of financial planners by helping equip them with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry,” said Jon Beatty, Head of Schwab Advisor Services. “In a digital world, the human element—empathy, judgment, and trust—remains irreplaceable, and this program helps ensure that foundation is strong for years to come.”

The gift will fund the development of a new concentration in Financial Planning within the BS in Business Administration Degree and create six new courses. In addition, the program will work with financial planners in the East Bay to offer a speaker series with networking opportunities for students.

不良研究所 Professors Fricke, Jan, Loveland, and Mosley from the Accounting and Finance Department look forward to working with Schwab and to supporting our students as they get ready for an exciting new career in helping others find financial success.
