COVID-19 Housing Information

As of January 2024, we are still having residents that test positive for COVID to quarantine on campus. Procedure has changed to where the first 24 hours of initial COVID symptoms OR positive COVID test are crucial. We encourage you to notify University Housing, the RA on Duty or your RA. We have designated quarantine spaces in Housing where you would be temporarily moved to a quarantine space for your quarantine duration.

Once you’ve been moved into quarantine. You’ll be in the quarantine space for up to 10 days. If you are quarantined/ isolated, you have filled out the COVID Status form, if you have any additional questions contact us via text at (510) 999-6461.

University Housing does not have a required masking policy per the protocols established by CSU East Bay’s campus and Alameda County.
We encourage you to wear a mask under these circumstances
- Experiencing respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, runny nose, and/or sore throat).
- If you’ve had a significant other or came in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, wear a mask for 10 days.

- Encourage the person to maintain strict hygiene practices and seek medical assistance if their condition worsens.

- Wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, frequently.
- Use hand sanitizers when soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Appropriately cover your coughs and sneezes (use a tissue, cough into your elbow).
- Clean surfaces that are frequently touched.
- Stay home when sick.
- Practice social distancing (maintain 6 feet distance from others, avoid crowded spaces and places).
